Website programming explained

Many business owners do not really understand what is involved in creating a website. It is easy to think that it is very much drag and drop, and that a website can be created quite quickly. Do get me wrong, there are companies out there that provide platforms in which you can create a website in this way, but they are not always the best sites in terms of looks and how they perform on the search engine rankings. To create a truly bespoke website takes time and unfortunately that means money. If you want a website that can really show off your products and services and that is full of useful gadgets and ways to display your information, then an off the shelf plug and play website is not going to be for you.

Websites are written using a coding language (there are multiple languages that can be used) and so every bit of text or image has some code behind it telling it where to display on the page, what to do if it is clicked, the colour of the font and size etc. Making what appears to be a relatively small change could take a lot longer than you think, if you do not understand how it all works.
