Pay per Click is a form of online marketing. Companies such as Google, Yahoo and Facebook all have a Pay per Click service which you can use which promises to help drive traffic to your website. The more specific you are with your keywords and ads the better quality of traffic you will receive. You will not get as many clicks as you would if you were using a broad term but the visitors to your site will be more likely to find the product or service they want – therefore increasing your conversion rate.

The cost you have to pay for running such ads vary greatly. Most ads are set up with a maximum cost per click, meaning that you can set the price. The higher you set it, often the higher you will appear on the search engine but often other things are taken in to account. On google Adwords for example, they also check the quality of the page that you are referring the visitor to and the relevance of the advert. This can all help bring the cost down. Pay per Click can really help build traffic toy your site and get new products noticed quickly, but it can be costly and something you may not be able to afford to do all the time.
