Outsourcing your programming

If you are a business that has a website or are looking for a website then you may have to outsource the project if you do not have anyone internally that is able to do so. Depending on how complex your website is going to be will often have an impact on who you can use for the site? There are a number of junior programmers out there that can build simple websites often using Joomla or Wordpress for example for a fairly low fee but if you require a more complex site or one with a bespoke content management system then you may have to dig a little deeper to fund the site.

There are advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing programming. The main advantage is not having to employ someone, not having to pay holiday pay, sick pay and all other employment benefits. This means you can pay for only the services you need rather than having to pay a wage every week or month.

The main disadvantages of using a sub-contractor is that you do not have as much control over what they do and when and may find that projects take longer to complete. You also may have to allow for times when they are off work and wait until they return to get anything done.
